This learning network is part of the Global Partnership on Forest Landscape Restoration (GPFLR). The purpose of GPFLR is to promote the concept of forest landscape restoration, and reinforce a network of diverse examples of restoration of forests and degraded lands around the world. Find out more on GPFLR on our website Ideas Transform Landscapes.
Through this learning network, we want to actively engage FLR practitioners in a process of sharing ideas on how forests, trees and their functions can effectively be restored. This, with the aim to secure both sustainable livelihoods ánd ecological integrity for the future. In this way, we hope to not only improve restoration practice, but also influence the international policy debate on saving the world’s forest. Visit our network of learning sites, to see how forest landscape restoration is being practiced around the globe.
Our growing network of FLR practitioners includes people working for governments, NGO's, community based organisations, and the business world. Check out our members' profiles in the members section, and get in touch.
In previous periods we discussed the basic concepts of FLR in FLR: what's new? After that, we identified and discussed the basic principles of an adaptive landscape approach. We reported on the 2010 IUFRO World Congress, the 18th Commonwealth Conference which was dedicated to FLR, and the 18th Annual Conference of the ISTF in Yale. An overview of all the previous discussions can be found in the forum section (see menue).
Please, feel free to contribute to the discussions, or launch your own discussion in the forum below.
