I’m a forester from Brazil, graduated at 2001. In 2010 I finished a masters’ program at CATIE – Costa Rica, named: Management and Conservation of Tropical Forests and Biodiversity.

My thesis – entitled “Forest landscape restoration and participatory planning as tools for transforming the territory and livelihoods within the highlands of San Marcos department, Guatemala” – had a lot to do with the FLR concept and planning techniques.

In 2010 I worked at Costa Rica in areas such as territorial development and social forestry and I’ve recently worked at the Caribbean region, mainly at the Dominican Republic, involved with consultancies regarding forest governance, model forests concept, biodiversity corridors, FLR and community forestry/agroforestry restoration.

Participatory FLR planning techniques; FLR field studies, REDD-plus; livelihoods - community development; poverty mitigation; tropical and subtropical social forestry experiences, etc.
Do you have any innovative practices to share? Avez vous des pratiques innovative a partager?
Yes: One in Guatemala - San Marcos Department, where I have done my thesis/field work, together with IUCN local crew.

The other one at Dominican Republic, an innovative agroforestry restoration program at the countries’ northeast region, more than 25 years of practice field work and community improvement results.
